Vilhelm Moqvist, a Swedish pianist born in 2003, received his bachelor's degree in 2025 as a student of Professor Konstantin Scherbakov at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in Switzerland, where he will also pursue a Master's degree in the fall of 2025. Previous principal piano teachers have been Roland Pöntinen and Kerstin Jansson.

In 2025, Vilhelm was awarded the prize for contemporary music in the 66th version of the international piano competition Premio Jaén in Spain, for the best interpretation of the commissioned piece for the competition, "Danza de fuego en el azul", by the Madrid-based composer David del Puerto. In the same year, Vilhelm received the first prize in a Rachmaninoff competition at ZHdK, where the prize was to perform Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Filharmonie Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic.

In 2025, Vilhelm was selected with five other pianists from the music conservatories in Vienna, Zurich, Paris and London to participate in a Masterclass week with a closing concert in Périgord Vert, France, under the direction of Denis Pascal, Professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. Behind the week is the foundation and patron Ad Manaurem 1762.

Vilhelm was recognized from an early age in Sweden. A two-time winner in his age group at the Steinway Piano Festival in Stockholm Concert Hall, he represented Sweden at the International Steinway Festival in Laeiszhalle, Hamburg, in 2018. That same year, he made his debut as a soloist performing Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Jönköping Sinfonietta. In 2021, Vilhelm was named the winner of Polstjärnepriset (Sweden’s largest competition for young classical musicians between the ages of 14-18) when he performed the third movement of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 in the final.

Vilhelm has received several scholarships from organizations such as Skövde Frimurarorden, Götiska förbundet, the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, and the Norwegian Kavli Foundation (in connection with his selection for De Unges Konsert in Bergen in 2020).

In 2023, Vilhelm was awarded the Anders Wall Giresta Scholarship. The motivation by Peter Friis Johansson, Head of Music of the Giresta Church Music Foundation, reads: "Vilhelm is an extraordinary talent. He has performed far beyond the level that can be expected from a pianist of his age and I also see a willingness to continue to work hard and purposefully."

In 2024, Vilhelm was awarded the JAA scholarship in piano at college level by the John Andersson Family*s in Anderslöv Foundation in collaboration with the Malmö Academy of Music.

Over the years, Vilhelm has performed on numerous stages, including the Stockholm City Hall in the presence of the Swedish Royal Couple, the Stockholm and Gothenburg Concert Halls, Kulturhuset Spira in Jönköping (Sweden), Laeiszhalle (Hamburg), Tonhalle (Zurich), as well as several other venues and in various contexts. Vilhelm has also participated in several different ensemble configurations as well as in masterclasses for many prominent pianists, such as Klaus Hellwig, Eliane Reyes, Mats Widlund, Per Tengstrand, Peter Jablonski, Hans Pålsson, Peter Friis Johansson among others.
